To start out the new year, Miner Illustrated sat down and asked long-time supporter and Miner Maniac C-Vo some questions about being a Maniac.
1) How long have you been a UTEP fan?
Well technically I have been a fan for the past 13 years, since I was in high school.
2) What drew you to the Miners?
What drew me to the Miners… it was when I used to stayed at my grandmothers house across the border. From her house you could see the stadium lights and I used to wonder what kind of games were played there.
3) Looking back on all the games you have watched, what is your favorite game/memory and why?
The most memorable game that I could think of its the when kicker, Keith Robinson, kicks a 59 yard field goal in the closing seconds to beat Rice 38-35 on October 19, 2002. It was a good game
4) If you could be a coach for the miners, what sport would you pick, and what would you coach? Why?
If I had the opportunity to coach something, it would be football. The reason for this is because of the fact that I could show the student athletes what unity its all about and see their reactions.
5) What does it mean to be a miner fan to you? What would you tell someone that you saw on the street about being a fan and why you are one?
The reason that I am a fan its because of pride. I understand that UTEP is not the biggest school with a big reputation, but what UTEP fans enjoy is the unity and that we still believe in our team.
