EL PASO, Texas – UTEP Athletics is looking for a few loud and proud Miner fans to join the award-winning Paydirt Pete Mascot Team for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Applications are available online for the 2010-11 tryouts to be held on Friday, July 23, at 3:00 p.m. in the Foster-Stevens Basketball Complex.

To be eligible for the 2010-11 Paydirt Pete Mascot Team, participants must be current UTEP students in good standing, between five-foot-seven inches and six-feet tall, have an outgoing personality and love to perform in front of large crowds.

As the official ambassador of UTEP Athletics, Paydirt Pete has a presence at all home Miner Athletics events. Paydirt Pete also travels with the Orange and Blue to select away events, such as conference championships, NCAA tournaments, as well as national mascot camps and competitions.
