EL PASO, Texas – On the eve of National Signing Day, UTEP coaches are still hard at work and according to a Miner Illustrated source, the Miners have a verbal commit from Lancaster High School (Dallas, Texas) outside linebacker Trey Brown.
The 6 foot, 210 pound two-star (Rivals) recruit received offers from Houston, Memphis and North Texas, in addition to UTEP, while being looked at by schools such as Oklahoma, TCU and Miami (Fla.).
Chris’ take: Brown is a quick, fast footed player who, on film, has good hip movement as he quickly attacks the ball and puts on some big hits. Lancaster HS plays a lot of 4-3 defense and he should fit in nicely with Andre Patterson’s scheme without too much trouble. More importantly, Brown looks like a natural fit for the line backer position.
