EL PASO, Texas - Perhaps we are a little crazy, but believe us when we say that there is nothing more rejuvenating than getting the college football season started with a long weekend trip to Camp Socorro.

That’s exactly what Chris and Sal did this past week and you can see the fruits of their labor with two great stories in this issue of the Magazine.

Sal spent some time on the defensive side of the ball and talked about the defensive backs and why they are itching to get going this season. Chris on the other hand talked to the trio of transfers from Mt. San Antonio College in California — Nick Lamaison, Mike Edwards and James Martin.

UTEP66 discusses conference realignment in his column while Josh asks the question we all wish we had the answer to right now: would Camp Socorro provide the answers we all have been looking for with regards to the football team?

As always, let us know what you think by shooting us an email at show@minerillustrated.com or responding to one of the posts on our newly re-designed website.

    Gentlemen

Another good Magazine, I really believe you guys are a part of what will make UTEP a successfull program, as long as you are fair and can evaluate the team honestly it will create help to create a positive atmosphere as your site spreads among the fans and will help to educate those that really don’t understand the whole scope of the game, I also feel as pespective recruits read your reports and the response from fans it may help to sway them our way….so keep up the great work, and before you know it, Muench will slowly fade away and be forgotten.

    GO MINERS!!!

  4. Thanks for the great comment Kidd! We all really appreciate the support and promise to continue to work hard for all the Miner Maniacs. Please continue to tell your fiends about us! Let’s go Miners!

I thought Lavorick Williams was Utep’s fastest wide receiver. He should be a deep threat target for Lamaison. Is he still on the team?

Thank you so much for the great pics and article. You’re right about these three Mt. Sac boys; they’re hard working, have a great attitude and want to be a part of UTEP’s gridiron success. Thank you for welcoming them into your football family.

I may be a little biased, but I think you’ll be glad you did.
