Miner Illustrated Magazine

EL PASO, Texas – It’s hard to follow up a football issue like we had last week, but you know we love our Miner sports so we are giving it a go this week with our regular issue.

In this magazine, we have two stories from staff writer Gus Contreras. In his first article, Gus had the opportunity to speak with the newest head coach at UTEP, men’s golf coach Scott Lieberwirth and talked about the direction he wants to take the team now that he’s at the helm. In Gus’ second article, he sat down with linebacker Jeremy Springer to talk about his senior season and how focused he is on having a successful season.

We introduce a new column called “On Deck” and Sal Guerrero traverses through the college football season and gives us his list of games to watch for. Josh Puga rounds things off with The Final Word and his perspective on why Nick Lamaison and the offensive line are so important to the season.

On a side note, the Magazine will continue to be published bi-weekly, so as much as we would love to bring another issue to you next week, you’ll have to sit tight till September 14. In the mean time, make sure you pick up our newest item in the MI online store; the one and only Pick Axe car flag is now on sale for $15!

Thanks for reading! Let’s go Miners!

As always, let us know what you think by shooting us an email at show@minerillustrated.com or responding to one of the posts on our newly re-designed website.

Great job on the magazine which is clearly a highlight of the site along with the honest predictions from the staff. Only one more day until the opening kickoff for college football; just one more day of waiting!
