SG Julian Harrell 6’5 175 pounds from Los Angeles, CA (Loyola HS) is claiming an offer from UTEP. Harrell now has offers from Air Force, Duquesne, Pennsylvania, Portland, San Diego and Stanford among others.
Harrell has a nice frame with long arms. He can handle the ball well in the open court and possess good passing skills. Harrell likes to attacks the offensive glass with power and he is pretty good in transition. He needs to improve his 3pts shoot.

Great job as always Angel. I can’t wait to see what happens to a name that we haven’t talked about much in Chris Washburn Jr. Obviously the son of Chris Washburn, and brother of current Miner Julian Washburn, Chris is now rated as a 4 star athlete by Scout, and has offers from Marquette, Maryland, Missouri, Oklahoma St, Oregon, Providence, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UTEP. He’s a 6’9 center, and may still gain an inch or two. Obviously with big brother here, we’ve certainly got a chance. It’d be an absolute steal.
One other basketball recruit is 6’6 Winston Shephard, rated as the 10th best SF in the nation by scout, and holds offers from Georgia, New Mexico, Oklahoma St, San Diego St, UNLV, and UTEP.
Well let’s hope the edge of having his brother here will assist in the recruiting effort. It seems as if the Miners will succeed with the recruits that they have now. If they can recruit Chris Washburn Jr who is 6’9 as listed above he will line up just fine with Trint Jenkins who is listed as 6’9, 327 lbs. Think of the holes they can open up as far as the running game. As long as the Miners continue to compete in annual bowl games I can honestly view that as a success. The next step would be to clinch the conference championship, Go Miners!!!
John, Chris Washburn is a BASKETBALL recruit. Trint Jenkins is a fottball lineman.
